First days of anything can always be stressful – the first day of school, work, a new hobby, yoga class…so anyway to make it a little less painful is always good in my book! So when I geared up for my first day of work on Monday, I wanted to wear something I felt confident in, but also didn’t look like I totally rolled out of bed. To be honest, I feel most comfortable in a t-shirt and jeans, but that’s not exactly the greatest look for a first impressions. Don’t worry though, I’ve been rocking my favorite usual look every day since Monday though 😉Charmingly-Styled-Stripes (7 of 16) Charmingly-Styled-Stripes (6 of 16)I’d been on the hunt for the perfect red striped shirt for awhile, so while shopping at J.Crew the other day {never a good idea for your bank account…} I stumbled across this perfect red striped shirt and white skirt combo. As with everything that I own that’s white, I immediately spilled coffee on it – but it still held up just in time for my first day {read more about that adventure here} – yay!

It’s such an easy look to pull off, plus paired with these French inspired gold D’Orsay heels, I can’t help but feel a little like Leslie Caron a la “An American In Paris”. Now I just need to magically be transported to France and learn to tap dance to truly complete the look! It’s important to have dreams…Charmingly-Styled-Stripes (3 of 16) Charmingly-Styled-Stripes (10 of 16)Charmingly-Styled-Stripes (5 of 16) This look is about to be my go-to combo for the next few months while I still have beautiful Chicago weather to enjoy! And can you believe that we’re almost half way done with the summer already? It’s seriously blowing my mind – I don’t want summer to ever go away, especially when it’s this beautiful in the city. I’m planning on spending every waking minute of my free time soaking up the sun and crossing my fingers that we have a late fall in store.Charmingly-Styled-Stripes (8 of 16)Charmingly-Styled-Stripes (16 of 16)And on that note – any fun plans for this weekend? I’m working on a few projects and freelance gigs, but I’m mostly focused on enjoying the sun, spending time with friends and enjoying this beautiful weather. I hope you find some time to do the same! xxCharmingly-Styled-Stripes (13 of 16)
