hippie roots

While you may not have guessed it from the blonde highlights and fashion blog, I’m actually a bit of a hippie at heart. Being from Madison and growing up in the hippiest {and might I add, most fabulous} neighborhood in the hippie heart of the Midwest, I’ve never really left behind my hippie dippy roots.
Okay, need more proof? My parents got hitched in central Mexico after moving down to take art classes there, I come from a long line of vegans {but I do enjoy bacon, thank you very much…}, and I  watched copious amounts of PBS growing up because I thought it was the only channel on TV {really, it was totally embarrassing. I didn’t get other kids Halloween costumes for years} – so I think I’ve got a little hippie street cred despite living in the city these days.
Truth be told, I totally miss Madison and my hippie roots. I long to find the perfect co-op, find friends to exchange our homemade granola recipes {it’s a thing…}, and wear Birkenstocks without feeling too self conscious in the loop. Here’s my attempt of merging a little city and my hippie roots together in an actual wearable ensemble  for whatever city I’m in πŸ™‚

The scarf, I love it!! That's too funny that PBS was the station you loved to watch! I could see why the other kid's Halloween costume's were confusing!

I love your little hippie background story–and this whole outfit is so adorable. Especially that scarf…I can't wait to see how you remix it for fall!
